Wuikinuxv Treaty

Picture
Wuikinuxv is currently negotiating a treaty with BC and Canada and has been in the BCTC treaty making process since 1993. The Intent is to create socio-economic certainty, as well as recognition of Wuikinuxv Rights and Title, creating a quality of life that is consistent with Wuikinuxv traditional values and beliefs and responsibilities around stewardship and to exercise Wuikinuxv inherent right to Self-Government.

Wuikinuxv is in stage 4 of the 6-stage BCTC treaty process and working towards an AIP within 2011. AIP is an agreement in principle that outlines how the final agreement will be negotiated and is not legally binding. Once AIP negotiations are completed, Wuikinuxv will be going through a approval (ratification) process.
