Wuikinuxv Nation – Labourer
The Housing Department is looking for a Labourer for a temporary part-time position.
Requirements:
Steel toe work boots, hard hat, reflective vest
Able to perform any manual labour needs (clean up, sweeping, packing materials, etc.)
Previous construction experience an asset but not required
Physically fit, punctual, dependable, and hardworking
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning and preparing construction sites
Loading and unloading materials and equipment
Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures
Digging trenches, compacting earth, and back-filling holes
Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment
Renovations (indoor/outdoor)
Construction Work
Maintenance Duties
Checking in with Nedo the Housing Manager at 8:30am every morning for daily tasks
Perform tasks involving physical labour at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites
Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove asbestos, lead, and other hazardous waste materials
Assist other craft workers
Mop, brush or spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection
Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement
Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete
Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
